• CREATING A SUPER BUG
  • SCIENCE. FIRST AND SECOND GRADE.
  • This unit is going to give students the opportunity to discover insects in great detail. Students are going to use the Visual Ranking Tool, create a Super Bug, and present a description and journal their daily discoveries.
  • Essential Question: How can something so small be capable of so much?
  • Unit Questions: Should we be afraid of bugs? Are insects more helpful or harmful? Do we really need insects?
  • Content Questions: What makes an insect? How are insects the same and different? How do insects grow and change? What are some ways that insects can be helpful and harmful?
  • Ranking the super Bug’s features. Students will have a list of the insect body parts in a power point presentation. They will be ranking the list and writing comments. Then students will be able to compare with the other groups reasoning’s. Studends will be aware of the skills needed of an Entomologist.
